Cross Country Schooling & Trail Riding

Schooling or riding out on the property is $25 per horse/rider combination per day. Be sure to call or e-mail in advance to schedule a day, as we do have other activities on the property. E-mail mmhounds@aol.com : please put “schooling” in the subject line. We do not open mail if the purpose is not designated. Please be sure to read through the General Guidelines and Forms section. Since it’s hard to remember all the details all the time, we found it easier to just put it all in writing there!

Please leave your dogs at home. Foxhound Kennels are located on the property.

In addition to trail riding, The Perry Plantation has full cross-country schooling facilities with over 150 natural and man-made obstacles including a water complex, drops, banks, ditches, a true Irish Bank, stone wall, and loads of jumps at all skill levels. There are also 2 dressage rings (large & small), a full stadium jumping area, 2 round pens, and a lighted riding ring. You are welcome to use all of these, however please do no change any distances on the gymnastic or stadium jumping lines. You are welcome to fill the water jump, but be sure to turn it off when you are finished.

Feel free to use the wash racks to hose off your horses afterwards—and also to make a day of it—picnic under the Live Oaks, relax & enjoy the wildlife of North Central Florida! If you would like to leave your horses while you go into Micanopy for lunch or run an errand, just discuss it with Alexis as to where to leave your horses. Some-times there is a spot you can leave them at no charge.

Remember that no dogs are allowed on the property, even if left in your car. Also fees must be paid & waivers completed in the tack room prior to mount.
